Jane Austen spent the final weeks of her life at No. 8 College Street, Winchester, and died there on the 18th July 1817.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of her birth in 1775, Winchester College is opening the house for the summer.

Under the cliffs of Noss, Shetland.

The end of May, so almost summer. Though you wouldn’t know it by looking at the thermometer.

No crowds, white sand, crystal clear water.
We won’t mention the cold wind and freezing water.

St Ninian’s Isle, Shetland
I’m seen quite a few sets of photos posted recently around this theme. So here’s a contribution.

Not “from the ferry” but “of the ferry”.

A rather fine example at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
